Conditions I Can Help You With
Pain in the low back pain is incredibly common these days, which is one reason holistic back pain treatment is gaining popularity. Many people report feeling the pain across their lower back and into their hips. Although the pain symptoms are on the backside of the body, the root point of tightness may be coming from the front side of the spine. Chronic sitting can create excessive tightening of the psoas muscle, which attaches to 22 different structures in your body including vertebra and vertebral discs and the lowest attachments are on the thigh bone. Holistic pain treatment can help with this.
Myofascial Pain Syndrome is a chronic pain disorder, also known as Fibromyalgia. The body may feel inflamed, stiff and achy especially when getting out of bed or getting up from a chair. Pressure on the fascia, (a fluid-like system of connective tissue interwoven between cells, tissue and muscles) causes referred pain in seemingly unrelated parts of the body. People with Myofascial Pain Syndrome / Fibromyalgia usually report, “hurting all over.”
Repetitive strain injuries such as carpal tunnel syndrome, tendonitis, epicondylitis, and bursitis to name a few, can be very painful, creating a constant background noise in a person’s life. Phaedra can often tell what repetitive movements a person does by observing muscle imbalances. Imagine how you use your body everyday. How do you sit and stand? Are you stressed at work and find yourself clenching to get everything done? Do you work at a desk all day and head straight to the gym after work? The sum of our movements add up!
Pelvic Floor Dysfunction affects the muscles, nerves, and surrounding skeletal structures of the pelvis. The pelvic floor acts as a “floor” to support the abdominal organs and controls the reproductive and waste elimination systems of the body.
Pelvic floor dysfunction commonly occurs from scars from abdominal/pelvic surgeries, childbirth, traumatic falls and injuries, and even too much sitting.
